BAKER DAYS: LETTERBOX CAKE REVIEW & GIVEAWAY!

Thursday 7 May 2015

Today I received the best parcel that I have ever received through the letterbox: CAKE!

Not only that, but the lovely bakers at Baker Days have also let me run a competition so that you can win one! (scroll right down to enter!)

If you're like me & love personalised & unique gifts, this would be such a treat. I know so many people (particurly guys!) who really don't like birthday cards. I have a feeling that they wouldn't grumble if they received a cake through the post rather than a card.
The cake is from Baker Days, an online cake specialist, & was delivered in this ridiculously adorable keepsake tin, which meant that it wasn't smushed by the fall from my letterbox to the floor.
Inside the tin, there were also some balloons, candles & a party horn which was such an appreciated added touch. They have thought of everything, even adding instructions on how to remove the cake from the tin without breaking it.
There are lots of different flavours to choose from. I had a Madeira cake & the sponge was delicious. I was so surprised at the quality of the cake & how tasty it was. I would be so happy for Baker Days to post me one of their bakers (*hint hint*) because I could literally eat these cakes all the time. YUMMY! Evie definitely 'devoured it with great gusto'.

They do different sized cakes, but the letterbox cakes are 5 inches (12cm x 2.5cm). They say that you can get 3-4 portions out of them but we got at least 6 portions!

I have so many friends & family that live all over the UK. This is a great way to let them know that you're thinking of them, whether it's a special occasion or even if you just want to reach out. The possibilities are endless. A get well soon cake? A birthday cake? A graduation cake? An 'I miss you cake'?

What's even better is that you can personalise your cake like I did to make it completely unique to the person you love. Letterbox Cakes start at £14.99. Click HERE to see their options!
What a fun & yummy parcel to wake up to!

Would you like a letterbox cake? It's COMPETITION TIME! The lovely bakers at Baker Days have given me the chance to give away a letterbox cake to one of you lucky cake lovers. All you have to do is fill in the rafflecopter. The more actions you do, the more chances you have of winning. It is open to UK residents only. The winner will be picked at random & I will announce the lucky winner on Monday! :-)   a Rafflecopter giveaway

    1. I'm not going to lie, I was really surprised by how tasty it was. I thought that the sponge might be quite dry because it's travelled through the post but my whole family was so impressed with how melt in your mouth it was. My other half normally works on his birthday, I'm definitely going to sneakily post him one to work this year for sure! He was so disappointed we had to share this one 6 ways. :-)

    1. Good luck! :-) We were so surprised how moist (I don't like that word haha but can't think of a replacement) it was. I always seem to get dry sponge cake too. Especially in cafes etc. So we really weren't expecting this to taste amazing, but it really did. We were all so disappointed that there wasn't more to go around! :-D x
